Do you know what your making for Super Bowl Sunday yet?!
If not, I’ve got ya covered with these 12 Vegan Super Bowl Recipe Ideas.
First, some words of encouragement:
A few weekends ago, I was chatting with my mom about entertaining as a vegan and how it can be difficult to figure out what to serve/bring to non-vegan guests who you want to please and not scare off, but at the same time, you want to promote healthier plant based options because that’s what you enjoy.
It’s a constant battle trying to lighten the mood around the vegan lifestyle. Food is a touchy subject because everyone has an opinion based on their background and life experiences. Ultimately, the battle stems from a fear of veering away from tradition and not being educated on the sustainability and long term benefits of eating a plant based diet. Our bodies not only survive without meat and dairy, they thrive, but our society hasn’t reached the point of understanding yet to feel comfortable knowing we can thrive without animal products because it’s so engrained in our minds.
It’s tradition. It’s the norm. No one wants to feel like the weird one at the party…
After being vegan for 2 years now, if I don’t embrace that I’m usually the odd one out, I’ll go nuts. Being flexible is imperative, especially when eating out at a restaurant or going to a party. Not everyone will understand why you eat a vegan diet and that’s okay. I talk more about this in my vegan starter ebook but for any new vegans out there who are nervous about socializing while out – just know it gets easier and better with time 🙂 never let anyone make you feel inferior because of the way you choose to eat. Remember you are doing it for you and you only – and then nothing else really matters at all!
For many Americans, it’s difficult to even consider a Super Bowl Party that doesn’t involve wings or ranch dip or cheesy appetizers and “manly” type foods. I used to be one of those people who was addicted to cheese and it was scary to give it up forever, but you know what’s even scarier? The fact that cheese is so processed that it’s addicting…
