French fries will always be in style, but you know what’s not in style?
Vegetable oils, soybean oil, corn oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil or whatever kind of industrial oil that most french fries are fried in. Which is why for these Crispy Air Fryer French Fries, we’re using the tiniest bit of avocado oil because it can stand up to high heat. You could also go oil-free because the air fryer (model # MCAF56DW ) can crisp up anything!
The highly processed, genetically modified oils are toxic for our hormones and overall health because they promote inflammation due to their high levels of omega-6 and can lead to an excess in the body. These oils are high-heat treated and chemically treated to make them more shelf stable, but in turn causes cellular damage and carcinogenic properties. When used in high-heat cooking, the oils turn rancid and are so chemically changed at this point, that your body does not recognize them.
We know that inflammation is the root cause of disease, and high levels of omega-6 accelerate oxidation and aging too… it’s time to eliminate these cheap, processed oils and focus on healthy options like coconut oil or avocado oil for cooking. The biggest culprits to look out for are store-bought salad dressings, sauces, dips, fried foods and most restaurant food, in general.
With all that being said, I have a new love for the airy fryer because you can use way less oil and save time! These crispy french fries took only 18 minutes, no preheating required, which is a total kitchen win in my book!
All you do is cut and season the potatoes, add them to the air fryer basket, press the fry icon and that’s it! The whole process could not be easier. I have so many ideas for this handy air fryer!

Healthier french fries made with a high-heat healthier oil instead of the processed vegetable oils. Crispy and seriously delicious!
5–6 small yukon gold potatoes
1/2 tablespoon avocado oil (or coconut oil)
1 teaspoon paprika
pinch of sea salt and pepper
Wash, dry and cut potatoes lengthwise into french fry strips or wedges.
Season by mixing potatoes in a mixing bowl with the avocado oil, paprika, sea salt and pepper.
Transfer to the air fryer basket, turn the air fryer on and press the french fry icon. Or, set at 400 degrees for 12-16 minutes. Halfway into cooking, remove basket and shake french fries for even cooking.
