It’s Friiiiiiiday and it’s been a while since I shared some favorites!
Aside from being random things, they’re all things I know you guys will like. Reading these types of posts are often my favorite kind to read on other blogs because I’m always looking for new inspiration and new things to try (which basically means new things to buy!!).
First up: Beauty Things
Acure Dry Shampoo powder:
I shared these on SnapChat last week (glowingfridge, if you want to follow!) but dry shampoo is a lifesaver. You are SO missing out if you haven’t tried it. My hair is super long, like past my elbows kind of long, which is exactly why I refuse to wash it everyday. You may think it’s gross – but it’s way too much work and takes too much time. Plus, we know washing it everyday isn’t the best for the health of our hair. So between washes, I’ve been loving the Acure Organics Dry Shampoo Powder because it refreshes and adds volume while soaking up any oil and nastiness. It’s also vegan and cruelty free! I’ll admit – the dry shampoo spray is a lot easier but it’s also TOXIC – you do not want to breathe in those chemicals, let alone spray them on your precious scalp. You can also try my DIY Lavendar Dry Shampoo if you want to make it at home!
The Wonder Seed Facial Cream:
As you saw from my Boka dental care post, I love subscription boxes! Last month, I re-subscribed to the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. Their February box included this lightweight moisturizer and I’m so happy I’ve been introduced to The Wonder Seed – but especially to this face cream as I’ve been on the lookout for a new kind. Not greasy whatsoever, feels super nourishing and is made with hemp seed oil, which my skin seems to love. Cruelty-free and vegan, of course!
Boka CocoRinse:
I’ve already mentioned CocoRinse here on the blog but I want to share it again because it’s amazing. Oil pulling is nothing new but I never got into it until recently and I can’t believe how much brighter my teeth are. I haven’t whitened them or anything, just been using this CocoRinse! You can probably make it at home too, because its just organic unrefined coconut oil and peppermint oil. Highly recommend it!
Next up: Luxurious Candles
My mom has an obsession with candles which I think has fueled my obsession! Who doesn’t like candles though?! I have them burning ALL day. They’re so relaxing and create a calming atmosphere – plus they make your surroundings smell so nice. I didn’t realize both of these candles are made by the same company, but they’re both equally intoxicating. The Moonlight Orchid Candle is uniquely soft and comforting. The description reads “Ebony wood reflects soft peach, white orchid and aquatic lotus over ambered sandalwood, smooth cedar and pure vanilla”. So dreamy!
My other favorite is the Luna Meteor Shower candle – it was a Limited Edition that I spotted at Home Goods and was hooked on the Ocean Water and Moonstone scent. Feels so ethereal and smells like ocean air mixed with amber. Candles are everything.
Lastly: Books!
Big Magic: Get ready to feel inspired! I’ve heard so much about this book that when I came across it on Amazon, I HAD to order it… so happy I did. Elizabeth Gilbert is also the author of Eat Pray Love. Need I say more? No matter what kind of job you have, there is a level of creativity that resides in all of us. The question is whether we choose to embrace it or not. Much of blogging is based on creativity and ideas so I’m all for these kinds of books that demystify our fears and challenges that we bring upon ourselves. Big Magic is very honest and insightful, helping to heal feelings of unworthiness and allow the creative process to flow through you. Love love love this book.
The Secret: Another very popular “Law of Attraction” type read. People either love it or think it’s nonsense but personally, it reminds me of the very basic rule that you bring in what you think about. For the past 6 months or so, I’ve been learning the teachings of Abraham Hicks so this is another book that was right up my alley. I like to flip to a random page every now and again when I’m feeling “off” and it helps me get to a better headspace. Sounds cheesy and I know its not for everyone but it works for me. I’m all for the high vibes and spiritual side of life these days so if you’re looking for a new perspective, I definitely recommend The Secret!
That’s all for my Friday Favorites – hope you guys have an awesome weekend and are able to get outside 🙂 I’m off to take Taz on a walk and get out in the sun!

I find that the Acure Dry Shampoo actually makes my hair too dry! But I haven’t been able to find another good non-toxic alternative. How to you apply it to your hair?! Maybe I’m doing it wrong 🙂

Love the look of the luna meteor shower candle!
