For my coffee addict besties who, like me, do not own fancy coffee machines.
I feel like the only people with fancy coffee machines got them as a wedding gift from their wedding registry…
Am I right?!
Anywayss, I know you ladies are out there and you’re looking for ways to sex up your coffee while keeping it healthy (and dairy-free!).
About two years ago, I picked up a $3 tool from World Market that conveniently stirs your coffee while making it FROTHY too.
YES. Frothiness feels so fancy and luxurious.
I just ordered this new milk frother from amazon because I felt like I needed a little upgrade. Plus, the one I bought years ago is no longer available (at least not online). Do you guys have a favorite frother?
Technically, you are supposed to froth the milk/creamer first, then pour it over your coffee, but I’m too lazy for that… plus that means more dishes I have to wash (no dishwasher in my apartment probs). So I just stir/froth it in my coffee cup after pouring in my favorite creamer (which I will get to) and it works just fine!
Unbleached, Chlorine-Free Coffee Filters: these are so much better for you and for the environment than the regular white filters. On snapchat (@glowingfridge), one of you guys recommended I try reusable filters which I will get next, when these compostable filters are gone. Love them!
Things I Add in My Coffee:
-
Creamer:
Califia Farms knows what’s up when it comes to coffee creamer (and plant milks too). I’m seeing Califia Farms in all the stores which makes me so happy! I love this brand (not sponsored by the way) because they’re dairy-free obviously, but also because they’re carrageenan-free and soy-free. I’m pretty sure I’ve connected the dots between soy and breakouts, so no more soy for me. They make a bunch of different flavors and I love every single one. I highly recommend trying this creamy deliciousness in your morning cup!
-
Stevia:
Specifically, Sweet Drops in vanilla cr?me because it’s never sweet enough.. and stevia adds that little extra sweetness I love. A little goes a long way – only 2-3 drops or it becomes bitter!
-
Cinnamon:
Ground cinnamon adds amazing cinnamon-y flavor while helping keep blood sugar levels balanced.
That’s it for my favorite coffee essentials!
What tips/tricks do you have?! What are your favorite ways to spice up your coffee?!

I am completely on board with Califia Farms products, they are amazing!! The toasted coconut almond milk goes perfect with any of my protein shakes. The creamer is out of this world and doesn’t upset my stomach like most creamers do. I even got my 68 year old dad addicted to the milk. I get mine at Heinens grocery store but Target is starting to carry more of their stuff now.

My percolator (coffee pot) could be a prop in an old western movie!! 🙂 I just came home from visiting my daughter in Seattle and shipped home a half pound of “fancy” coffee. I love, love, love my coffee. And since I only drink one cup a day, I like to make it special. Sometimes I sprinkle cinnamon and maybe a little cacao in the grounds basket along with my coffee. I love Califa products, but for my coffee, I absolutely adore the So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Creamer. I also really like your fancy frothing tools. That’ll be my next coffee splurge.

I add coconut oil along with the cinnamon to my almond milk and froth that baby up! The coconut oil adds a dreamy richness that makes me savor my morning coffee. I also sometimes include a spoonful of Teavana Hazelnut coffee to my brew for extra flavor!

Mmmm coffee … I never found a vegan creamer I liked to I finally was able to switch to black coffee. It took some doing but oh, how I love my black coffee! The darker the better. Favorites are Deathwish and Jim’s Blend X aka Witches Brew. The ONE thing I will not compromise on is how I make my coffee – no more electric coffee makers for me ever. I make mine in a stove top percolator – the best! At camp, I use a Bialetti coffee maker which I absolutely LOVE! Both make dark, rich, HOT coffee. I think I need another cup …
