A little motivation…
Nearly 6am on this Monday morning, I’m sitting in bed thinking and typing, full cup of coffee on my bedside table and Taz is snuggling close under the covers. I find comfort in the morning calm before the city wakes up and the trains start whizzing by. Working for yourself has it’s perks as you can work whenever you please (like 6am on a Monday or 10pm on a Wednesday) but also brings obstacles – no one is telling you what to do aka YOU are your own guidance system and motivator. YOU have to be self-taught in basically everything when it comes to your business. Whatever else it takes to make it all happen – it’s up to YOU.
Being my own boss has always been a dream of mine, which is one of the reasons I started blogging back in April 2014. I knew I would make it happen because I didn’t give myself any other options, it was going to work no matter what, but how long would it take to get to that bliss point?
That was the question.
I feel like this is a major fear for many who aspire to be their own bosses. The unknown of everything involved in branching out on your own. The change from being told what to do, to figuring it out when you have no idea what you’re doing, but you’re doing it. The likelihood that you may be broke for a while. The fact that you may have to miss out on things. You may have to sacrifice a lot in order to stay afloat while keeping the big picture in mind (even when it seems impossible). The fear of failing.
Can I really make it happen?
I like to believe that things generally work out and our life path is already mapped out before we even know what we truly want. When we’re ready, even if we don’t feel ready, things fall into place and opportunities present themselves. Life points (sometimes pushes) and shifts us in the direction we need to go. Eventually, we can look back and realize why certain things happened, only to bring us to the place we’re in now.
Through all those scary times of wondering if you’ll be able to make ends meet, you push through. When all you have left to do is believe, perseverance steps in to keep you going. You have to absolutely LOVE what you’re doing in order to persevere when all odds are against you.
Perseverance. I love this word.
The definition of perseverance: steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
Whether it be resources, family, friends, other commitments etc., doing everything you can with what you already have is sometimes the only way to make your dreams a reality. If you don’t love what you’re doing to your core, you will give up. Loving what you do is the only way you can persevere.
I’ve listened to a ridiculous amount of motivational speeches this past year… but they’ve truly helped to reframe my mindset. I listen to them while cooking, cleaning, doing dishes, driving, showering, when I wake up or whenever I feel down. Abraham Hicks who focuses on the Law of Attraction has been my latest obsession. She’s helped me realize that worrying is pointless and a waste of time and energy. Knowing that things will always work out brings such relief to any situation, seriously. There’s no point in worrying when you know that everything always works out. Always. Even if it’s not exactly how you pictured it, there’s a reason for that, which will be revealed someday.
How you handle every moment – the good and the bad – is energy. What you think about and focus on is what you attract.
Knowing that life works out in your favor if you stay grateful for what you have in this moment – it always makes me feel better and keeps me in that high vibrational place. Listen to this video from Abraham Hicks about taking action and figuring it out – video may be a little out there for some but I LOVED it 🙂
Start where you are. There will never be a “right time”, you must create it. Use what you have. Do everything you can with it. Remember that no one has it all figured out. Trust your instincts.
Anyways.. I have all the feels today ha. A little Monday inspo never hurt. As much as I love recipe posts, I love these spiritual/motivational posts just as much. I especially love when we get some good conversations going in the comments. Hearing your thoughts and stories make it that much better.
Hope you have an amazing Monday! I’m working on a FAQ too about blogging, living vegan, any questions pertaining to the lifestyle and anything you want to know about me! Ask me your questions in the comments and I’ll include them in the post. I’m working on a vegan Christmas cookie too – so stay tuned for that yumminess.

LOVED this post girl! 😉 I am going to listen to that video tonight for sure!!! I used to listen to motivational things a lot and be much more into the manifesting and actions attracting your tribe stuff until a few months ago when I kinda got myself in a funk of a mood… I’ve been doing some inspirational posts on my blog lately too just short ones as a way to get myself re-inspired and other people as well 😉 … winter always gets me feelin crappy, I’ve been trying to get back into it though because I was in a much better place when I was 😉 and the “hole worrying is pointless”, I TOTALLY AGREE but why is it so hard to accept that? lol !!!!!!!! I try and tell myself that every time I catch myself obsessing or worrying over basically everything, I need it tattooed on myself as a constant reminder! lol anyways, this post was much needed I loved reading it!
