I’ve fallen back in love with granola!
I got scared of it for a minute because of the sugar content but there is a solution, and it’s much tastier anyway! The solution is to make your own homemade granola at home. It’s SO WORTH IT.
This Sugar-Free Cinnamon Crunch Granola is liiiife and makes your kitchen smell like literal heaven.
There are a few granola brands with low sugar content but also, they can run $9 per bag. You get so much more for your money when you make your own, and it’s so much easier than you think!
Let’s talk oats. I grew scared of them for a while too, which makes me sad. Oats are amazing and I didn’t realize how much I missed them! I think my fear stemmed from the keto craze that happening right now, but I’m so over the food fears. Oats are a whole food and contain a great amount of fiber, protein and iron. Plus, what is granola without oats?!
What are the ingredients?!
- gluten free rolled oats
- almonds
- sunflower seeds
- hemp seeds
- coconut oil
- cinnamon
- stevia drops
- vanilla extract
- sea salt
You could add a tablespoon or two of maple syrup if you don’t have stevia to keep it low sugar instead of sugar-free. Check out my post here on why I gave up sugar, but always make it work for you! I use this vanilla stevia, by the way. Also, the cinnamon is naturally sweet too, and also helps to balance blood sugar (which is essential for healthy hormone balance!)
Yummy extras you could add:
- shredded coconut
- dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, gogi berries, etc.)
- freeze-dried fruit (strawberries, bananas, blueberries, etc.)
- vegan chocolate chips (I like these sugar-free ones)
All you do is mix the dry ingredients together, melt the coconut oil, add the wet ingredients to the dry, mix again and bake! It’s so simple and ready in less than 30 minutes, from start to finish.
Also, almond milk mixed with warm granola is BOMB, just sayin’. I hope you enjoy this scrumptious and crunchy granola recipe!
