After the long holiday weekend, it seems only fitting to share a homemade Super Easy All Natural Energy Drink with you, on (what feels like a) Monday!
You guys, this is the EASIEST way to get a burst of pure natural energy without turning to coffee or sugary drinks when you need a quick jolt of balanced revitalization. I love coffee but if I can get focused and energized with something that isn’t so acidic, you know I will turn to that instead.
You guys also know about this new craze with matcha green tea superfood powder right?! I’ve shared my love for it plenty here on the blog with my fave Energizing Green Smoothie Bowl and even Matcha “Nice Cream”. It’s the best immune-boosting natural energy source that’s packed with concentration-enhancing vitamins, anti-aging antioxidants and cancer fighting catechins. Today I have something so simple, you’ll have it sitting in your fridge, waiting to conquer tomorrow’s to-do list.. I sure do.
With 3 ingredients, it takes less than 30 seconds to make or to “shake”.
All you need is:
- a glass jar or BPA-Free water bottle (or something that you carry with you throughout the day)
- 20 oz. filtered water and ice cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (get my favorite brand here)
- stevia liquid liquid sweetener (or your favorite sweetener; coconut sugar, maple syrup etc.)
- fresh lime juice from 1/2 lime (optional)
1) Fill your jar/bottle with water.
2) Add the matcha powder, stevia and lime juice. Cover with a lid.
3) Shake, shake shake!!! Until there are no clumps.
4) Add ice cubes if you feel like it (makes it super refreshing, especially for hot summer dayssss)
5) Sip some pure natural green tea energy whenever you need it, and get to work! 🙂
I have a huge mason jar full waiting in the fridge for anytime I need to re-focus – it seriously works wonders. Let me know if you give it a try.

So easy, so tasty, so refreshing – my new favorite!!! Lights up dark winter days

I made this as soon as I saw that I had all the ingredients (I made it without sugar)! The taste of hot matcha was too strong for me to stomach. This is very yummy and I can’t taste the Matcha at all 🙂
Next time I will add cucumber and mint to my pitcher.
Thank you!
Misha
I hv never tried any drinks for energy bcuz of my sensitive tummy. Pls advice is it safe to use matcha as it looks amazing n refreshing.
Shannon Leparski
Hi Misha,
Matcha is a potent green tea powder. I can’t say if it will affect your sensitive tummy or not, but I suppose you could start out with a small amount (like 1/4 teaspoon) and see how it goes. Then you can increase the amount if all goes well. I love matcha for energy, it’s completely natural and full of antioxidants.
Let me know how it goes!!
Shannon
Sheila
Does it really give you energy like the energy drinks or coffee?

I could definitely use a healthy energy drink today! I’ve heard a lot about matcha, but I’ve never tried it. Does it have a strong herbal flavor? I’ve never been a fan of herbal teas, but I’m a citrus fiend so I can appreciate the addition of lime juice. 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Shannon Leparski
Hey Nichole – It has a distinct green tea herbal flavor but the amount can be adjusted for sure. One teaspoon is pretty mild (sometimes I add two teaspoons to a latte) but start with a half teaspoon maybe, and see how you like it 🙂 plus the sweeteners and the lime juice help with bitterness of course!

Shannon
