    Friday Favorites

    Sep 4, 2014 • Uncategorized, Wellness & Lifestyle

I love reading “Friday Favorites” or “Things I’m Loving Lately” on other blogs, so I thought to share my own favorite things on this lovely Friday!

    1. Air Drying my Hair

I am so guilty of using blow dryers, straighteners, and curling irons in the past. But I noticed since I cut down on my use of appliances, my hair has improved significantly! And it’s starting to grow again, at least I hope it is 😉 I’ve been trying to grow it out since foreverrrr. Lately, I have only been using a curling iron on occasion for those luscious beachy waves. I will brush my hair out before the shower, wash it with this, deep condition, and while the conditioner is in the ends of my hair, I use a wide-toothed comb to gently brush out the ends. Then I rinse out the deep conditioner and afterward, I don’t brush it. Yep. That’s right. I let it be. Our hair is so delicate and prone to breakage when wet! I don’t touch it until it’s fully dry, by air drying it. Then I will gently comb through with a wide-toothed comb and go with the au naturale look. If I’m going out or running errands, I lightly curl it to get that beachy wave effect – and it takes no time at all!

    2. Braided Hippie Hair

If I’m having a weird hair day, you know, when your hair just doesn’t look good no matter what you do, I turn to this braided hair style. I’ve done this look for a long time but recently, I’ve been loving it more and more. Maybe because the whole air-drying, beachy waves thing inspires me to channel my inner hippie. Hah. I think it’s so simple and adorable! I also found a bunch of ideas from the Barefoot Blonde – love her! She has sooo many fun hair tutorials. I especially love her Hippie Braids look.

    3.  Sevi Blue Yarrow Sea Salt Spray

I got this sea salt spray in my vegan cuts beauty box a couple months ago and I’ve been spritzing it on damp hair to add texture and body. I spray it, scrunch it and it dries without that crunchy yucky residue. It also smells like pure relaxation. Ah-mazing.

    4. Green Juices

Do you ever go through phases with green juice? Some weeks I neeeeed it every day. My body craves it. And then other weeks I’m sick of them and am all about smoothies. Lately I’ve been on a green juice kick. Sometimes a green juice and a green smoothie. I just can’t get enough veggies! They also work wonders for my skin, hair and nails. My favorite green juice recipe is a couple big handfuls of spinach or kale or both (I like to switch up my greens to make sure I’m getting the different vitamins/minerals) 1 apple, 3 celery stalks, 1/2 of a cucumber, 1/2 of a lemon (peel removed), 2-inch piece of ginger, handful of frozen green grapes, ice and water – I use all organic too. I throw it all in the Blendtec which turns it into a smooth juice and drink up. What’s your favorite green juice combo?

    5. Spirulina Tablets and E3Live

There’s a whole lotta controversy with taking supplements. I think a better way is to ingest the vitamins you want is from actual food but I’ll stick with the supplement version of spirulina. In August, I started taking 4 Spirulina Tablets daily to maintain healthy protein levels (Gamma Linolenic Acid) and so far I’m loving it. I also just ordered E3Live, have you tried it? I can’t wait! It provides more than 65 vitamins, minerals, amino acids & essential fatty acids. Woah. E3Live is a rich and easily absorbed form of chlorophyll, and is considered to be nature?s most complete and nutrient dense superfood. It’s known to boost immunity, stabilize mood swings (hello PMS) and cleanse your digestive tract. It’s basically algae which sounds weird but seems like the best way to get all those trace minerals that is missing from our vegetables nowadays due to modern farming. It’s also a fresh frozen form of algae, basically it’s the real deal miracle food.

    6. Boohoo.com

Right now, they are offering 20% off everything. Online shopping is my weakness :/ I ordered this neon pink leopard dress and I’m obsessed with it!!! I know it’s super summery but we are going on vacation to Cancun in the spring with friends and I just had to have it to wear on vacation! I also ordered this loose knit sweater for Fall. It’s so comfy. Can you tell I love pink?!

        Hi Adele,

Thank you! Vegan Cuts is the only subscription beauty box I receive right now and I absolutely love it! They offer amazing sample size and full-size products and while I do wish it was more customizable (being able to choose a light pink/nude lipstick color instead of purple…) it’s a great deal and a fun way to see the latest cruelty-free vegan products!

        x,
        Shannon

& my hair needed SERIOUS HELP. It was super oily & my hair needed SERIOUS HELP.

It was super oily and greasy with buildup from past products. I was washing daily… and just unhappy with the dullness and lack of volume. That has since changed!

Aside from getting transformed hair, this opportunity allows motivated women to have another income source. It allows mamas to have the best of both worlds - their own income while raising their babies (if you’re in that phase of life). It provides social media training, so much guidance and support (you’re never doing it alone), earned confidence and most importantly, community. Some of my best friends are here now because we talk daily and know everything about each other’s lives! Surrounding yourself with like-minded successful women can turn your life around. I’m not kidding. You are who you surround yourself with. It’s more than just shampoo.

All it takes is deciding YES and stepping out of your comfort zone. Don’t let life pass you by. Stop wondering and start taking action! 🥂

what healing looks like 🌼🩷 I starts out my what healing looks like 🌼🩷

I starts out my morning with a bunch of supplements to eliminate parasites and bacteria and repair my gut while supporting my liver and gallbladder. Next I make a protein smoothie with vanilla whey protein powder and a custom supplement to support my deficiencies. And lastly my creamy dandy blend latte because I’m not drinking coffee right now.

This is what works for me right now! I also have gf toast usually from @awgbakery. I’ve had to eliminate so many things but it’s all for good reason, to reduce all the inflammation. I’m working with @lifelabwellnessco if you would like your own custom plan and testing 🙏🏼 should I share more videos like this?
