    Simple Cucumber Salad (Vegan)

This is exactly what I’ve been craving. Something tangy, vinegar-y and crunchy!

    Meet my Simple Cucumber Salad.

So easy and ready in 5 minutes, no joke. Simple is best with cucumber salad as you really want the crunch and refreshing, cool flavor to shine. The saltiness and hint of mild sweetness is out of this world!

I love snacking on this cucumber salad with crackers and vegan cheese (like a Violife cheese block) or serving as a dinner side/appetizer. I also stack a small piece of vegan cheese with a cucumber slice from this salad on a seed cracker and have that for a quick and simple lunch/snack. It’s my new favorite!

Cucumber salad reminds me of my Grandma June who passed away but this was her favorite thing to make for family parties. I have since made it healthier by using monkfruit granulated sugar (instead of refined white sugar), making it a sugar-free recipe! I’m not sure how coconut sugar would work… it may alter the color because coconut sugar is a golden brown color but if you try, let us know in the comments!

Did I mention how simple this recipe is?!

Ah yes I did a bunch of times now. All you do is thinly slice the cucumber and red onion, then combine in a medium-sized bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the white vinegar, water, salt, dill and monkfruit sugar. Then pour over the cucumbers and mix well. Eat immediately or refrigerate! It’s best eaten within a day or two as the cucumbers will not stay as crunchy as they are on the first say but that is when I will add them to sandwiches or something like that 🙂

    Description

The tanginess and mild sweetness are out of this world. It comes together in 5 minutes. It’s sugar free and gluten free!

    Ingredients

    Scale

    2 cucumbers, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons red onion, thinly sliced

    1 cup white vinegar

    1/2 cup filtered water

    1/4 cup monkfruit sweetener

    1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt

1 teaspoon dried dill (or 2 tablespoons fresh dill; chopped)

    Instructions

Slice the cucumbers and red onion very thin, then combine in a medium-sized bowl.

In a separate bowl, mix the white vinegar, water, monkfruit sugar, sea salt, dill. Then pour over the cucumbers and mix well.

Eat immediately or refrigerate! It’s best eaten within a day or two as the cucumbers will not stay as crunchy as they are on the first say but that is when I will add them to sandwiches or on top of leafy salads to use them up.

Health Update: Babesia, Strongyloides and Mold

    Me, feeling like crap.

My head feels like a balloon. I’m irritated and angry. Somehow, writing a blog post instead of doing instagram stories feels less vulnerable.

It’s hard to explain what all this means and when I tell people, they look at me like I’m an alien with 5 heads. Not even kidding.

What do you mean you have babesia?

    What is that?

    What is strongyloides?

    How did you get it?

How do you get rid of it?

I know someone who had that and this is what they did.

How do you get mold in the brain?

How did you find all this out?

I think I have that, what should I do?

SO MUCH NOISE. And so many questions. It’s almost unbearable.

I understand why people have questions though because let me tell you, I have plenty of questions too.

How I’m feeling comes in waves… there are good days and bad days. I’m assuming I’m detoxing today because I started some of my new protocol this week. The bad days are when I have to fake that I’m feeling okay because life doesn’t stop, especially when you have your own small business and are in the middle of some big projects. By the way, I know some have it far worse than I do, but it’s all relative and this is my reality in this moment. Right now, I’m in the angry and annoyed phase. The “why me” phase. But I know I will be okay.

I’m also lonely… even though I have more than enough support and people to talk to. This is a type of loneliness that is hard to describe. Mostly because a lot of people think I’m nuts. They aren’t able to comprehend the words coming out of my mouth. These are foreign words to the general public, I know. But other people struggling with similar things will understand.

So, this week I found out I have a host of new things to take care of. Strongyloides in my brain (a type of parasite), babesia (a co-infection of lyme), mold in my brain and liver, mercury in my brain, a virus, plus low thyroid and progesterone as a result of all the above. Sounds crazy, right? You see, I thought I had my fair share of health complications with parasites and all the gut issues the past 2 years, but apparently there was more. Thinking back, I was bit by a tick when I was 3 years old and I can’t help but wonder if that was the culprit and allowed other things to latch on as my gut and immune system weakened over time. Or if it was from a mosquito. Or from some other bug. Who even knows!! The guessing game of trying to figure out where all this came from is pointless and will drive you crazy, so it’s not worth it because there is nothing you can do except move forward.

All of this is screwing with my mind though because I was ready to get pregnant. Like all I want in the world is to be pregnant and start our family. I cry about it every single day. But you can’t get pregnant or stay pregnant with low progesterone. And I refuse to take medications at this point because they’re only a band-aid. I’m grateful to have found this out now because while I may appear to be fine and healthy I feel like crap 50% of the time. It has become my new normal. And I rarely mention it anymore because people either think I’m complaining or they think I should get over it and “just power through”. So yes all of this is a blessing in the long run… even though it totally sucks right now. At the same time, finding out this news is validating and explains why I have random fevers, extreme fatigue, sadness, air hunger, abdominal pain, unbearable brain fog and can’t lose weight.

Some good news was that I do not have parasites in my gut – hooray! All that parasite cleansing at least helped my gut but wasn’t able to pass through the blood-brain barrier. There are other protocols for this. Side note: King coffee has been saving me by helping me have amazing sleep throughout all of this, and it supports my detox even more.

This whole time I knew something deeper had to be be going on because I wasn’t necessarily getting better… but I also wondered if it was all in my head. Maybe it would clear up on its own, you know? If I didn’t think about it and just got pregnant it would go away for 9 months, and I would deal with it after. Or it would somehow just disappear. Out of sight out of mind, right? Wrong. These things don’t just disappear, it takes months of detoxing and eliminating.

Imagine if I had never found any of this out! Where would my health be in 20 or 30 years?

I know you are wondering how I found out this unfortunate news. I was divinely led to Emily Morrow (an angel) who was able to do frequency testing on me. She does not diagnose. She finds the root cause imbalances. Before you go running to her, she’s completely booked up through November and has no open spots in the foreseeable future. I feel very lucky to have gotten in with her. I know it all happened for a reason. She is also our team leader for our Mushroom Queens king coffee team, and we share in that magic of helping to spread the goodness that is reishi spores. Anyway, it’s difficult to explain what Emily does and how she is able to recognize what I’m resonating with and what solutions my body is energetically attracting to. So I’m not going to try to explain it. You can visit her instagram to learn more if you are curious. I will tell you it is similar to doing a Creating Balanced Health full scan (use my code glowingfridge to save $20 – haha shameless plug! I had to!). I do believe these things would have eventually shown up on a scan, but Emily was able to fast track this for me in real time. So if you are feeling like sh** and not sure why, or you have tried all the things but no doctor can tell you whats wrong, I highly recommend getting a full scan done to see what you could be resonating with. Or you could try to locate a naturopath in your area that does muscle testing which is similar (although not exactly the same).

I’m not going to share my personal protocol because I don’t want anyone to do what I’m doing (unless they know they have the same things). Otherwise, that would be a complete waste of your time and money. It’s very important to work alongside a functional practitioner who is knowledgable in these areas. Most conventional doctors aren’t taught these topics in medical school. And most tests will not show these things!!!!! They are taught about medications and how to treat symptoms rather than the root cause. This is EXACTLY why I’m studying to become a practitioner (through the IHP program) and man, my new complications have added some fuel to my fire, let me tell you! I’m ready to learn and want to help people feel amazing every single day. We all deserve to feel good.

The goal is to rid of these intruders and then get your body strong enough again to fight off these things on its own because we come in contact with parasites, viruses and bacteria on a daily basis. It’s when your body and gut are not strong that they make your body their new home.

All in all, I apologize if this was a bit of a downer. Sharing my story is helping to raise awareness about these topics which has always been my goal, even if it’s uncomfortable and unchartered territory for so many of us.

I’m able to view the world through a different lens and I know this is all happening for a reason because it’s teaching me even more about empathy… which is imperative to have as a practitioner. More updates to come. Love you all. If you have any questions at all, leave a comment below or send me a message on instagram (or email me).

Extra Fudgy Vegan Brownies (Gluten Free)

The world is lacking PROPER brownies.

No one likes a cake-y brownie. If they did, they would eat chocolate cake! You know?! These Extra Fudgy Vegan Brownies are flourless, gooey and super chocolate-y. I’ve made them 4 times already to get the recipe just right and it is absolute PERFECTION. I mean it.

You are going to FREAK! You may even be mad at me because of how yummy they are. Sorry not sorry!

The key ingredients are melted chocolate and a teeny bit of espresso/coffee. Or maybe even king coffee?!! Yep you could totally make some king coffee brownies. Talk about magical. I prefer the espresso though for that robust taste that really magnifies the chocolate flavor. Are you drooling yet?

One other thing – these decadent brownies could not be easier! Start my making your flax egg and whisking the dry ingredients together. Next you will melt the coconut oil and chocolate together (I use a microwave because I can’t be bothered with another dish) but its totally up to you! Add the almond butter and flax egg to the wet ingredients. Pour over the dry ingredients. Transfer to the parchment-paper lined baking dish and flatten out with your hands. Decorate with extra vegan chocolate chips if you want (I highly recommend 🙂 the bake and devour!

My favorite treat is a frothy king coffee paired with a fudgy brownie. YUMMMMM. Let me know if you make these in the comments!!!

    1 1/2 cups almond flour

    3/4 cup coconut sugar

    1/2 cup raw cacao powder

1 teaspoon ground espresso (or ground coffee)

    1/4 teaspoon sea salt

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Instructions

Preheat the oven to 35o degrees F. Line a square baking dish with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl. whisk together the almond flour, coconut sugar, cacao powder, espresso and sea salt.

In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the coconut oil and chocolate chips together in 30 second increments, mixing in between, until fully melted. Stir in the almond butter. Pour over the dry ingredients. Add the flax egg too. Mix brownie batter together until well combined!

Vegan Lemon Garlic White Wine Pasta

    Simple ingredients. BURSTING with flavor.

I’m all about different types of pasta lately but have been LOVING this Vegan Lemon Garlic White Wine version! Plus, its so fun cooking with wine. Have a sip, pour a splash in the pasta sauce, listen to it sizzle, have another sip. This is my first recipe doing that! And let me tell you, ya feel fancy, like a real chef (almost). Aside from cooking with tequila in my tequila taco recipe haha… which is also fun but wine is much less pungent!

My hardest critic (hubby) said this is the best pasta I’ve made to date, and that is saying a lot. When I think of pasta I think of red sauce or alfredo, you know? So this is new to me although probably not new to many of you! I’m just behind the times and because I’ve been very into chickpea pasta (and brown rice pasta), I feel extra inspired.

Think butter-y, elegant, restaurant-quality pasta. Actually, your home will smell like your favorite Italian restaurant. YUMMM.

Also, cherry tomatoes are in season and look so lusciously juicy! It’s hard to resist them staring at you from your garden or from the produce section/farmers market. They’re so beautiful! Remember to always buy organic though because you don’t want the pesticides. Speaking of garden, I had fully intended to plant herbs and veggies this summer and it never happened because I couldn’t find organic anything. I’ll have to search better next year or start from scratch and order organic seeds. But we do have green onions, chives, mint and basil so that has been nice to incorporate into some of our meals!

    Cooking With Wine:

    • Use a good quality dry white wine like Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc (I used this one). You are only using 1/3 cup of wine so you will have extra. Choose a wine you will want to drink!
    • Not all wine is vegan! Some wine is processed using animal products (like fish protein, egg whites, gelatin, etc).?Barnivore.com?is a great source to find vegan alcohol!
    • Feel free to sub in the same amount of wine for vegetable broth plus two tablespoons of white wine vinegar. It won’t taste the exact same (obviously), but will still taste delicious!

    Description

Elegantly simple and bursting with flavor, this pasta dish is sure to please!

    Ingredients

    Scale

    8 ounces chickpea pasta

2 tablespoons vegan butter (can sub olive oil)

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    1 shallot, diced small

    1–2 cloves garlic, minced

    1/2 teaspoon sea salt

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 1/2 cups of cherry tomatoes, halved (or 1 pint)

1/2 cup packed fresh basil, chopped

1/3 cup vegan white wine (I used this one but I am no wine expert 😉

    1/2 lemon, juiced

Greens to serve on the side (optional)

Optional add-ins: green peas, broccoli florets, zucchini

    Instructions

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a pinch of sea salt. Once water is boiling, add the pasta and lower heat (the Banza pasta tends to boil over and cook very fast). Cook until al dente, about 5-6 minutes. Drain the pasta, rinse with cold water to prevent it from cooking any more and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the vegan butter and olive oil over medium heat. Once melted and skillet is hot, add the shallot and cook, stirring until the shallot is translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic, sea salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes. Next, stir in the cherry tomatoes, basil and vegan white wine. Simmer for 5 minutes until the liquid reduces by about half. Stir in the lemon juice and then transfer the cooked pasta into the skillet and toss to combine.

Serve immediately or store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

    Notes

I highly recommend adding in frozen green peas with the cherry tomatoes! This provides more vitamins, minerals and protein while adding beautiful color to the dish.

    Vegan Summer Pasta Salad

Deliciously fresh chickpea pasta salad with greens and veggies.

I could eat this everyday of summer. You get protein and fiber from the chickpea pasta, along with so many micronutrients from the greens and summer veggies. I added rainbow cherry tomatoes, cucumber, corn, red onion, sunflower seeds and vegan feta from VioLife (the feta is optional!) along with spring mix and Banza pasta. And the lemon-y dressing is SO simple, but that’s the point! And it comes together in 15 minutes. What more do you need to know!?!!

    Simple, fresh and scrumptious.

This Vegan Summer Pasta Salad is perfect for the ovulatory or luteal phases of your cycle, but obviously could be eaten any time too, because it’s healthy, refreshing, light and crunchy. I just like to point out which phases it could be good for if you are cycle syncing.

I’m currently trying my best to get back into eating with my cycle because making my cookbook really through me off. I was making menstrual recipes while ovulating and nothing ever matched up, so I’m starting to find my flow again and having fun cooking in the kitchen. All of my creativity was tapped out after I finished the cookbook recipes. It took everything out of me (literally) and I needed a bit of time to recover so I finally feel a teeny bit of motivation to slowly cook for fun again. Cooking for fun is different that cooking recipes you NEED to get done that day. It feels forced. I’m sure you guys can understand and thank you for sticking with me through the lack of recipes on the blog the past few months. I finally have my life back (and my time back) and can get back into blog content. Yay!

I hope you love this recipe because I can’t get enough. Also FYI, I like to leave the dressing separate and just have the salad prepped and ready to go in the fridge for when I’m hungry. Otherwise the greens will get soggy. So just a tip for you!

Overall, I’m very happy to be back with recipes 🙂

    Description

Simple, fresh and scrumptious. Made with lots of veggies and greens, along with chickpea pasta for fiber and protein. The dressing is lemon-y and EASY PEASY. All of it comes together in 15 minutes. My new favorite summer meal.

    Ingredients

    Scale

    8-ounce box of chickpea pasta

5–6 cups spring mix (or spinach/arugula)

    1/2 cucumber, chopped

    1/3 red onion, sliced thin

    1 cup organic corn

    1 pint cherry tomatoes, sliced

3/4 cup vegan feta, crumbled (optional; could swap for crumbled tofu)

    1/3 cup raw sunflower seeds

    DRESSING:

    1/4 cup olive oil

    1 + 1/2 lemons, juiced

    3/4 teaspoon sea salt

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

    Instructions

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a pinch of sea salt. Once water is boiling, add the pasta and lower heat (the Banza pasta tends to boil over). Cook until al dente, about 6-7 minutes. Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water. Place pasta in large bowl.

In a small bowl, whisk together ingredients for the dressing. Pour the dressing over the pasta and gently give the pasta a toss.

Next, add in the spring mix, cucumber, red onion, corn, cherry tomatoes, vegan feta and sunflower seeds. Toss to combine. I like to keep the dressing separate unless I am serving it all at once. Add the salad to your bowl and drizzle with the dressing. Add more olive oil, lemon juice, salt and/or pepper, if necessary. Serves 5-6.

    Higher Dose Infrared Sauna Blanket

A more affordable and low EMF infrared sauna option to sweat it out in the comfort of your own home.

This sauna blanket has been an essential part of my healing and detoxifying lifestyle protocol. A total game changer for sure! Aside from eliminating toxins through stool and urine, sweating is yet another way that we detox and release toxins through our skin, so it’s just as important. Not only that but sweating feels soothing, uplifting and relaxing, and gives you the glowiest skin you’ve ever seen!! Think Edward from Twilight type of glowing.

    How Does It Work?

What this infrared sauna does is increase the body?s thermal energy while promoting a temporary increase in blood flow. So you get as sweaty as you would with a really intense workout, but without the workout. Now I would never promote this over exercising because exercise has endless benefits but this is just another tool in the toolbox for detoxing and healing from the inside out. Think of it as a therapeutic anti-inflammatory healing tool that promotes a good mood and activates your parasympathetic nervous system to kickstart the rest and digest mode in the body.

I tend to use my sauna blanket at night for 35-40 minute sessions after a workout, because it soothes sore muscles and burns extra calories, AND because it’s imperative to shower immediately after sauna-ing (to wash off the toxins and prevent them from being reabsorbed). So why not get it all in at once and do some major self-care therapy?! I use it 2-3x per week and feel so healthy and rejuvenated afterward. You can make the experience whatever you want or need it to be. Sometimes I mediate or fall asleep. Sometimes I listen to a podcast. Sometimes I watch Netflix or youtube. It just depends how I’m feeling and what I need that day.

    Let’s Talk About EMF’s:

A lot of saunas at health clubs emit EMF’s that are off the charts which goes against the whole point of doing a healthy sauna session! So it’s something to be aware of because EMF’s are not healthy and cause inflammation amongst many other health problems. So something that’s really cool about this infrared sauna blanket is it’s been tested and verified to be low EMF. In fact, it’s the lowest EMF sauna blanket on the market!!

I love how it’s small, portable and travel-friendly while having some extra fun benefits like being constructed with amethyst, tourmaline and charcoal layers plus a medical-grade magnetic strip to provide a super rejuvenating experience! It’s also made with premium non-toxic interior and exterior fabrics, and was designed in part by Dr. Raleigh Duncan who is the founder of Clearlight Saunas. Ahh, its so relaxing.

    The Potential Benefits:

    • Detoxification: 7x more detoxifying that traditional heat
    • Anti-anxiety: increases feel good chemicals and lowers cortisol
    • Calorie Burn: up to 600 calories per hour
    • Anti-aging: boosts collagen and produces a healthy “glow”
    • Improves sleep
    • Reduces inflammation
    • Increases blood flow and circulation
    • Soothes sore muscles and joints

After many sauna sessions, I have a very specific protocol for how I use this sauna blanket!

    • I use it right after a workout, usually at night or after work because it activates the relaxing parasympathetic nervous system. So near the end of my workout, I turn it on and let it warm up before going in the blanket
    • If I remember, I rub castor oil on my liver area before (optional)
    • I lay a thick towel down, wrap my feet in a towel and then put another towel over me because it gets SOO HOT and feels like it will burn your skin otherwise. Or you can wear clothes but I like how the towels help absorb the sweat because you don’t want to be lying in a pool of your own sweaty toxins. Then I can just wash the towels and it’s easy clean up
    • I lay there for 40 minutes at level 8 or 9 (9 being the highest)
    • I shower immediately after to wash off the toxins
    • I clean the blanket with a mix of Branch Basics all-purpose cleaner and the on guard DoTerra essential oil.
    • I always unplug the device in between sessions, then I fold it up and store it in a closet

Vegan Reishi Ganoderma Latte + FAQ About KING Coffee

Do you LOVE your morning coffee? Do you want to switch to the healthiest coffee in the world?

If you missed this post where I introduced Reishi Spore (aka Ganoderma), then be sure to check it out because it has tons of info including what it is, the endless benefits and how to buy it! Today’s post includes my recipe for my morning Reishi Spore aka Vegan Ganoderma Latte as well as a FAQ section because I know you probably have LOTS of questions. I did too. This KING coffee makes a lot of big claims, but it really lives up to them. It’s acts as a software upgrade for the body.

    First up, Frequently Asked Questions!!

How is this coffee different from other mushroom coffees? Can’t I just take reishi mushroom powder?

Sure you could, but you want to make sure the sourcing is legit. I’ve learned that reishi spores are the most important and most potent part of the mushroom and no other company has the patent to do what Organo does. A lot of companies take shortcuts. They will grow reishi in artificial plastic bags and not on logs as they were intended. The strength and potency from other reishi powders I’ve tried doesn’t even compare.

As far as other mushroom/coffee brands – most people will not notice or feel a difference until they use the Organo reishi spore product. Not to mention some other mushroom coffees out there taste like mushroom soup! Yuck! The KING Coffee tastes like rich premium coffee with no mushroom taste whatsoever. You won’t find anything like it because of the patent they have for the harvesting process which I talked all about in this post.

I thought coffee was bad for hormones?

I know I’ve talked about how caffeine is no bueno for hormones. I know I have caffeine-free latte recipes on this blog. I know I talk about it constantly and this might seem counterproductive. I know! BUT, reishi is an adaptogen and these reishi spores in particular cancel out the negative effects of caffeine, meaning no blood sugar spike, no cortisol spike, no jitters, no anxiety, no sleep disruption, no headache, no dehydration and no negative effects on hormones – it’s quite the opposite actually and the reishi works to BALANCE hormones and hormone-related conditions.

Just a calm, focused and steady energy with no crash. I know. It sounds to good to be true and if it was, I wouldn’t be sharing it. This stuff is LEGIT. If coffee isn’t your thing they also have hot chocolate (not vegan though) or tea BUT only the KING Coffee (and the spore powder) have the actual spores, which is the most beneficial part for healing the body and bringing it back into homeostasis. Also, the only coffee that is organic is KING coffee.

I can’t have coffee for health reasons.

I couldn’t either before trying KING Coffee. I used to get jitters and headaches and it would spike my cortisol which made my hormones a mess. But this coffee doesn’t do that because the reishi spores cancel out the negative effects that normal caffeine has. You just have to try it for yourself. There are many testimonies where people said the same thing but they can drink this coffee and actually feel better because it brings the body back into homeostasis. This allows your body to do the healing it needs to do. The reishi spores act as the driver and offer body intelligence. It’s the healthiest coffee in the world! I will say the only coffee in the Organo product line that has the reishi spores is the KING Coffee (and also the spore powder if you’re still concerned about the coffee). Their other products contain other parts of the mushroom which are still great but not as beneficial.

Can I drink KING Coffee during Pregnancy/Breastfeeding/TTC?

It would be unethical to test on pregnant or breastfeeding women and I can’t make those claims. What I will say is that reishi is a FUNCTIONAL FOOD and protects the fetus. It’s not just another supplement. I will be drinking this throughout my entire TTC journey, pregnancy and breastfeeding experiences. There are many claims that it helps with milk production as well. You have to decide for yourself and be your own advocate because I highly doubt your doctor knows anything about the benefits of Ganoderma even though it has been used for thousands of years… just sayin’! Now when I do get pregnant, I will probably drink only 1 cup of KING coffee per day and then add in the spore powder capsules to get the benefits!

I’ve heard its toxic long term.

I feel like you read this on google lol. Again, reishi is a healing, functional food. That’s like saying pineapple is toxic long term. It just doesn’t make sense! I want this food in my life for the long term.

Does it help with X, Y, or Z symptom?

I don’t know if it will help what whatever symptom you are experiencing, but it sure won’t hurt! The reishi doesn’t heal x, y or z symptom, your body does. What reishi does is bring your body into a balanced state which allows your own body to heal itself and do the work it needs. So it could help and I absolutely believe it’s worth a try. At least give it 30 days of drinking the KING coffee exclusively or taking the spore powder and see how you feel because again, it doesn’t hurt.

Research has shown a wide range of benefits with no known contraindications or drug interactions. There is no known toxicity level of Ganoderma meaning you can take as much as you want…. like bottles worth and nothing bad will happen! In fact, you may heal even faster haha. (There are testimonies of people doing this).

Why is it instant coffee? Why is it in an individual sachet?

I actually love how it’s instant coffee because I don’t have to brew coffee anymore! I just pour the sachet into my coffee cup and pour hot water over it (I bought this hot water kettle.) Then I froth some plant milk and have the most delicious cup of coffee in no time. The KING Coffee is in individual sachets to ensure you get the same therapeutic dose of reishi spores in every cup. It’s also portable and travel friendly this way because all you need is hot water. It’s actually genius.

    Isn’t it dehydrating?

Normal coffee is dehydrating and requires 17 cups of water for every regular cup of coffee. But with the added reishi spores, it’s more pH neutral so you aren’t having to balance and counterbalance meaning you won’t have to overcompensate with extra water. I do not find it dehydrating at all… but I do still drink my normal amount of water with added minerals.

Reishi (Ganoderma) Mushroom and KING Coffee

Oh my, do I have some healing goodness to share with you.

One month ago, I came across a product called KING Coffee from Organo. I was immediately intrigued after reading the testimonies as I was in the throws of my detox protocol and struggling in a major way with extreme sadness and anxiety. I’m also in a stressed state… trying to finish my cookbook and keep up with the madness happening in our world. I can imagine you are stressed as well! This product came into my life at the most divine time, at a time when I needed it most. Now, I won’t go a day without it and my body is asking for it. It’s about time you hear about the Organo products as well, so you can take advantage of the healing goodness that is Reishi Mushroom – and not just any Reishi – but the actual spores (aka the mushroom seed) from this medicinal mushroom that is a FUNCTIONAL FOOD.

What sets the Organo company apart is the patent they have on how they harvest the spores. It’s a difficult process that takes 5-7 months where they have to gently crack open the shell to get to the spore (seed) and then turn it into a powder that is carefully crafted into other products and beverages.

After drinking the KING Coffee for one month, I knew I had to become an educator and distributor, so here we are. Eeek! Are you ready to learn all about the magic that is Reishi?!

    WAIT, ONE MORE THING:

I know I talk about how caffeine is no bueno for hormones. I know I have caffeine-free latte recipes on this blog. I know I talk about it constantly and this might seem counterproductive. I know! BUT, reishi is an adaptogen and these reishi spores in particular cancel out the negative effects of caffeine, meaning no blood sugar spike, no cortisol spike, no jitters, no anxiety, no sleep disruption, no headache and no dehydration.

    What is Ganoderma (Reishi)?

Ganoderma Lucidum is the scientific name for Reishi Mushroom, the powerhouse of all medicinal and adaptogenic mushrooms. For thousands of years, Ganoderma Lucidum has been used by practitioners of traditional Asian medicine as the highest rank of all herbs found in the Chinese pharmacopeia. Ganoderma gives your body what it needs and offers body intelligence, bringing it back into balance the way it was intended to function. If you need energy it will give you an energy boost. If you have anxiety it will calm your nerves. It does something different for everyone because we all need different things at different times in our lives. The benefits range from more restful sleep to fighting cancer. I know!

Organo is the only North American company that has partnered with the largest certified organic Ganoderma plantation in the world to bring this treasure of life to the Western world. In 2009, Organo and its partners celebrated the groundbreaking of their $240 million Gano Herb industrial park, the largest of its kind in the world. The Organo mushrooms are grown in the beautiful Wagyu Mountains in Asia, not in a lab and not in plastic bags (as some other companies do).

The Many Healing Benefits of Ganoderma (Reishi) Mushroom:

There are thousands of published articles on the benefits of Ganoderma. Research has shown an array of benefits with no known contraindications or drug interactions. There is no known toxicity levels of Ganoderma meaning you can take as much as you want…. like bottles worth and nothing bad will happen! In fact, you may heal even faster haha. (There are testimonies of people doing this).

    Some documented benefits include:

    • Detoxification (mold, lyme, parasites, candida, viruses, heavy metals)
    • Reduced inflammation (Rheumatoid Arthritis, ulcerative colitis, IBS)
    • Balanced immune function and modulation (autoimmunity, illness, disease, HIV, HPV, Cancer, Tumors)
    • Reversal of amyloid plaques on the brain (alzheimer’s dementia, parkinsons disease)
    • Increase in GABA (improved adrenal fatigue and cortisol levels, better sleep)
    • Supports mitochondria and cell energy
    • Protects from WIFI
    • Hormone Supportive
    • Cortisol and Blood Sugar Balance (diabetes, stress, anxiety)
    • Regulates pH in the body
    • PCOS – helps regulate blood sugar, insulin resistance, anti-androgenic

These infographics have more details on the different types of mushrooms, which products contain each, and their benefits!

    Why add Reishi to Coffee?

Because you will never forget to drink your morning cup. Sometimes we forget to take our supplements… but we never forget about our coffee. Coffee is the most consumed liquid on the planet. In fact, it has the highest compliance rate of any substance. Nobody has to remind you to consume it! It only makes sense to add the world?s most researched herb to the most consumed liquid. If coffee is not your thing, remember they have the spore capsules. There is something for everyone.

DO NOT ORDER FROM AMAZON – PRODUCTS ARE EXPIRED AND/OR COUNTERFEIT AND PEOPLE HAVE GOTTEN SICK.

I bought a box of king coffee retail to try it first before becoming a distributor. I fell in love and knew I wanted the discounted pricing and wanted to put the king coffee on autoship so I never run out!

Why is KING coffee more expensive?

For one, the KING coffee is organic. It also contains a therapeutic dose of reishi spores (17-80x potency of lucidum (Reishi) mushroom). The outer cracked shell of the reishi mushroom takes 5-7 months to harvest. It takes 2,000 lb of spore powder to make 2 lb of Spore capsules. This spore powder is infused into the king coffee.

What is the difference between the black coffee and the KING coffee? What about the other coffee products?

The Black coffee is a darker roast and contains organic reishi fruiting body powder (ganoderma lucidum). If you want a more affordable cup of coffee and want to promote healthier detoxification, this is your go-to sachet. The Black coffee is not organic but the mushrooms are.

The KING coffee is organic and contains organic reishi spores. This is their top shelf product. The best of the best. It has a delicious premium coffee taste. I do not taste the mushrooms at all!

Most of the other coffee coffee products are not vegan. They also do not contain the spores. I will only drink the King Coffee!

I want to learn more! How?

I starts out my morning with a bunch of supplements to eliminate parasites and bacteria and repair my gut while supporting my liver and gallbladder. Next I make a protein smoothie with vanilla whey protein powder and a custom supplement to support my deficiencies. And lastly my creamy dandy blend latte because I’m not drinking coffee right now.

This is what works for me right now! I also have gf toast usually from @awgbakery. I’ve had to eliminate so many things but it’s all for good reason, to reduce all the inflammation.
